30 Days of Me Day 1

Day 1-My favorite Song

So this is almost impossible because there are WAY too many songs that mean a lot to me!!! I love songs from all different types of genres and all of them remind me of my husband in some way or another. I really love old school R&B more than the new stuff as well as some rock/alternative/country/rap etc..(not rap now but back in the 90's when it was good)! Amongst the top of the list (and off the top of my head right now!) would have to be:

*Alicia Keys w/Usher-My Boo: This song really describes a lot of what me and J have gone through. I love most Alicia Keys songs and feel that she can vocalize a lot of what I feel!

*Paramore-Hallelujah: speaks to my heart and I just love them! I literally get goose bumps when I hear it.

*Lenny Kravitz-Fly & Without you

*Lenny Williams-because I love you

*The Juliana Theory-Constellation, August in Bethany, and more! I remember playing this CD over and over back in HS!

Again I could go on and on so I am just going to stop right now!!!

About me!

suppose I should start off saying this is the first blog I have ever had. I am going to go ahead and warn everyone who actually reads this now: these are my thoughts and in no way are they intended to offend or hurt anyone in any way...these are just the random things in my brain I often think about that I need to get out! So please don't judge me or make things sound like they aren't or take something I say the wrong way. Things are what they are! Also I already know I can get a little wordy because I am more of a writer than speaker. I can talk more on paper than in person. That's just how it's always been!

I was a Navy wife for 5 years and I am now embarking on becoming an Army wife. My husband has been in the military for over 10 years and he intends to do 10 or 20 more depending on how this Army things works out lol. We have been in love for over 13 years and married for almost 6. There have been bumps along the way, but they were all worth it and I can honestly say we are each other's soul mates and our love stays strong with our faith in God and a ton of patience lol:) We have a beautiful son LJ whom I had waited 4 long years to be blessed with, and thanks to the fertility drug Clomid, he is here now. We have another one on the way, Gage, and we couldn't be happier with our little family. In our military travels we have been to Italy (he has not me but we plan to go on our 10 year anniversary), Japan, Texas, California, and a long drive back home to good old Charleston, SC. I can fully say from all of our travels, there is no place like home, but we still want to keep traveling around the world and experience as much as we can while we are young and let our boys explore with us too!

Before I go I should probably explain my title. I consider my grandma to be an amazing lady. She passed a few years ago and I always admired her for her grace especially during rough situations. I aim to be a lady like she was!!! Anyone who knows me since I was a child knows I am fiesty and sometimes speak before I think and that's gotten me into some sticky situations lol. As I have gotten older, been in a foreign country with no family and not many friends, had to give birth to my son alone with no family or hubby there (thank you Marriah for being there), dealt with some mean people, etc... I have learned that there is a way to deal with things gracefully and tactfully. I want to be a "lady" and not just a woman. I still have my moments where I just don't hold my tongue when I should, but I am really trying and I aim to be that "lady" that my grandma and aunt would be very proud of!!! I know they must look down from heaven at me and laugh sometimes....and I miss them so much and it hurts they aren't here to see my boys grow up or even had the chance to meet them.

So that's it in a long nutshell!!!!
